Description
The study began in the Department of Family and Community Medicine in 2004 under the chairman
ship of Dr. Jamal Al-Bahloul Bordom from 2004 to 2013, then the department was managed by Dr. Mukhtar Muhammad Issa from 2013 until now. Expatriate professors from Egypt and India assisted in teaching until 2011.

Progress and excellence in preparing doctors in the field of public health and epidemiology and honing them with the experiences and skills necessary for them as doctors in the future.
Mission
Teaching family and community medicine to fourth-year students and providing them with the knowledge necessary for their field of work in the future.
Goals
• Introducing students to the basic principles and concepts of community medicine and its various branches
• Familiarity with the basic components of health and disease.
• The student should be aware of the physical, social, psychological, economic, and environmental factors and the extent of their impact on the health of the individual and society.
• Providing the student with basic information about the epidemiology of infectious, non-communicable and chronic diseases.
• Introducing the student to the environment and health problems resulting from environmental pollution, and how to prevent them.
• Introducing the student to the principles and basics of primary health care, and developing his ability to perform his job as a leader of the health team in it.
• Acquire various skills in maternal and childcare, nutrition, school health and health education.
• Providing a concept of basic information about occupational health and environmental health.
• Acquire modern concepts of health management and health planning.
• The student must be able to deal with public health emergencies.
• Raising a new generation of young doctors who are fully aware of the problems of society and the health environment, and who have the ability to study these problems and develop effective programs to treat and prevent them.
• How to conduct scientific research in the field of community medicine and primary health care.
• Conducting scientific educational seminars and training courses in the field of community, environmental and industrial medicine.
